Unmasking Strength: Hrithik Roshan Reflects on Father’s Shocking Attack

January 18, 2025

Hrithik Roshan, the handsome hero of Bollywood who is now working on War 2 with Jr. NTR, has revealed shocking revelations regarding a life-changing event involving his father, Rakesh Roshan. Hrithik revisits the terrifying attack on his father that rocked their family and the country in the recently released documentary series The Roshans.

In 2000, Rakesh Roshan was shot by attackers in broad daylight in Mumbai, a week after the premiere of Hrithik’s highly anticipated debut film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. Even though he was shot twice, the tough director drove himself to the hospital. Many people believed that the attack had connections to the underworld, which gave the already horrific incident a dark undertone.

Hrithik recalled the experience, saying, “God, it was a rough moment, of course.” However, I still do not recall ever being scared about my father. He was Superman. I was briefly alarmed to see a peek of blood-red linens, even in the hospital, but his calmness and humor gave the impression that he could manage anything. In addition to expressing his adoration, Hrithik’s remarks also convey the inner struggle he had while seeing his father’s strength and weakness.

The aftermath of the attack is also clarified by the documentary series. Rakesh Roshan woke up screaming, horrified by the shooting, according to a story his mother told, Hrithik disclosed. Hrithik said, “That is when I learned the vulnerability behind Superman,” referring to the façade his father kept up in spite of his suffering. Hrithik addresses the media in 2000, describing his sadness and the lack of faith he had during that difficult time, according to archival footage. A poignant phase in the Roshan family’s journey is brought to life in the series, and their tenacity inspires viewers.
