Mythological and socio-fantasy films are gaining significant traction in Indian cinema, particularly in the Telugu film industry. A noticeable trend is the growing number of films centered around Lord Shiva, either as a central figure or as a strong thematic influence. Among the most talked-about upcoming films is Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu in the lead role. This film narrates the story of Bhakta Kannappa, a revered devotee of Lord Shiva, and features an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, Madhoo, and Preity Mukundan. The movie is set for a grand release on June 27 and is expected to be a visual and emotional spectacle.

Another highly anticipated film is Akhanda 2, which marks the return of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu after their massive success with Akhanda. In the sequel, Balakrishna reprises his powerful role as an Aghora, a fierce devotee of Lord Shiva. The film is expected to delve deeper into mythological elements and amplify the divine aura that made the first part a blockbuster.

Sudheer Babu is also stepping into the world of mystery and mythology with a new supernatural thriller that recently went on floors. While details are still under wraps, sources suggest that Lord Shiva will play a key thematic role in the storyline, blending suspense with spirituality.

Meanwhile, Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’s Haindhava is said to revolve around themes of righteousness and devotion, with Lord Shiva’s presence subtly influencing the narrative. Similarly, Aravind Krishna’s A Masterpiece is another intriguing project that integrates Shiva’s essence into its core plot, aiming to connect modern storytelling with mythological depth.

These projects highlight a renewed fascination with spiritual and divine storytelling, signaling a strong resurgence of Lord Shiva’s influence in contemporary Telugu cinema.
