The recently released Raid 2, the sequel to the blockbuster Raid, has been making waves at the box office since day one. Riding on strong word-of-mouth and a gripping storyline, the film opened to positive reviews and impressive collections. Ajay Devgn once again impressed audiences in the role of Amay Patnaik, while Riteish Deshmukh stood out as the antagonist, delivering a memorable performance.

While Ileana D’Cruz featured in the first installment, Raid 2 introduced Vaani Kapoor as the female lead. Although her role had limited screen time, she made a notable impact, and the film has added another success to her portfolio.

Within the first week, Raid 2 raked in over ₹95 crore. However, just as the film was gaining momentum, the sudden onset of tensions between India and Pakistan, including military conflict and blackouts in several regions, led to a significant drop in theatre footfalls. The situation created a ripple effect on the film’s box office performance as audiences chose to stay away from cinemas due to safety concerns.

Even after a ceasefire was announced, the public remained hesitant, fearing further escalations. Despite these setbacks, the box office collections have started recovering as normalcy returns in many parts of the country.

To date, Raid 2 has grossed over ₹170 crore and is inching closer to the ₹200 crore milestone. With no major competition at the Bollywood box office this week, Raid 2 is expected to continue its dominance.

Directed once again by Raj Kumar Gupta and jointly produced by T-Series and Panorama Studios, Raid 2 was made on a modest budget of ₹50 crore—making its performance all the more impressive.
