Nithiin Pins Hopes on Thammudu After Series of Flops
Actor Nithiin has had a rollercoaster career filled with highs and lows. While he started off with a few successful films, he soon faced a long phase of flops that lasted nearly a decade. His strong comeback with Ishq revived his career, leading to a few years of consistent success. However, once again, his career graph took a downward turn.
His last notable hit was Bheeshma in 2020. Since then, Nithiin has delivered six films, all of which failed to perform at the box office. His most recent release, Robinhood, turned out to be a major disaster. These repeated failures appear to have affected Nithiin’s confidence, which was quite evident during the trailer launch event of his upcoming film Thammudu.
At the event, Nithiin seemed unusually low-key. He admitted that he had spoken extensively during the promotions of Robinhood, but this time, he preferred to stay reserved, saying that Thammudu would speak for itself once it hits the screens. Producer Dil Raju also revealed that Nithiin didn’t demand a hefty paycheck for the film, instead allowing the producer to pay him what he felt was appropriate — a clear sign that Nithiin is focused more on the film’s success than monetary gain at this stage.
With consecutive setbacks behind him, Nithiin is desperately in need of a hit. Fans and the film fraternity alike are hopeful that Thammudu, directed by Sriram Venu, will mark the much-needed turnaround in his career when it releases on July 4.
