Thandel, starring Yuvasamrat Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Sai Pallavi, is all set for a grand release on February 7th. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Bunny Vasu, with renowned producer Allu Aravind presenting it, the film has already generated significant buzz. In a recent move, the makers expressed their gratitude to the family of former Central Minister Sushma Swaraj for granting them the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC).

The film is inspired by real-life events, particularly the efforts of Sushma Swaraj, who worked tirelessly to bring back Indian fishermen detained in Pakistani jails in 2017-18. Among those released were fishermen from Srikakulam, thanks to her diplomatic negotiations. To maintain the authenticity of the story, the makers decided to use real names and incidents from this period, including those of Sushma Swaraj.

Producer Bunny Vasu extended his heartfelt thanks to Sushma Swaraj’s daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, for her pivotal role in securing the permissions. Vasu expressed his gratitude on social media, saying, “Heartfelt gratitude to @BansuriSwaraj garu for giving us the opportunity to showcase the remarkable work of your mother, the former Central Minister Mrs. @SushmaSwaraj garu, in bringing back the fishermen who were stuck in Pakistani jails in 2017 and 2018 in our Thandel. Your support in granting permission to share the names in our real hard-hitting story of Raju and Satya means a lot to us.”

This thoughtful gesture by the filmmakers reflects their commitment to telling a true story, honoring the contributions of leaders like Sushma Swaraj. The movie has already gained immense traction, with songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad becoming chartbusters and the trailer going viral across Telugu and Tamil-speaking audiences.
