Success often follows a planned path, but for Prithviraj Sukumaran, his journey into direction was more of a pleasant detour than a set goal. Best known for his stellar performances in films like The GOAT Life, where his portrayal of Blessy contributed to the film crossing ₹150 crore, Prithviraj has also become a celebrated director with blockbusters like Lucifer and Bro Daddy. While many of the top actors in the industry dream of working under his direction, Prithviraj’s entry into filmmaking wasn’t part of his original plan.

The Malayalam superstar admitted that acting has always been his true passion, and his transition into directing was an unplanned one. He never aspired to direct, nor did he seek out collaborations with industry legends like Mohanlal and Murali Gopy. It all happened by chance. His directorial debut, Lucifer, came to life when he and Murali Gopy, while acting together, began discussing cinema. One conversation led to another, and soon enough, the film was born.

Prithviraj’s accidental leap into directing turned out to be a game-changer for Malayalam cinema. Now, with the release of his highly anticipated sequel L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, set for March 27, 2025, fans are eager to see his vision unfold again. Will L2: Empuraan surpass the legacy of Lucifer and elevate Malayalam cinema to new heights?
