Shahid Kapoor, who is married to Mira Rajput, has often expressed his admiration for her in interviews. Before marrying Mira, Shahid was in a high-profile relationship with Kareena Kapoor, which ended with a public breakup. Following that, rumors about his relationships with other actresses circulated, though Shahid never confirmed any of them.

In a recent conversation with Raj Shamani, Shahid opened up about heartbreak and what he learned from his past experiences. He shared that sometimes, when people love deeply and face rejection, they end up chasing the person they love to the point where they lose their dignity. At the time, they don’t realize it, but later, they reflect and question their actions. Shahid emphasized that it’s crucial to learn from such experiences to avoid wasting opportunities and to better understand what one truly wants in a life partner.

He explained that falling in love and being in a relationship are two different things. People should pay attention to whether their relationship brings out the best or the worst in them. He stated, “Sometimes you love someone so much that while they reject you, you chase them to a degree that you start losing your dignity. You sacrifice your dignity and you don’t even realize that you’ve lost your self-respect. Later, you think, ‘What was I doing?’”

Shahid also shared an important lesson about love: one should never seek love out of neediness. Wanting love to feel important or for comfort is selfish. While everyone desires love and attention, a healthy relationship should be about both giving and taking. Shahid’s marriage to Mira Rajput, which was arranged by their families, began in 2015. Shahid was immediately drawn to Mira when they met, and although it took Mira six months to agree to the marriage, they eventually tied the knot. Despite their 13-year age gap, they have built a strong, loving relationship.

The couple has two children: daughter Misha, born in 2016, and son Zain, born in 2018. On the professional front, Shahid is currently working on his upcoming film Deva, where he plays a police officer. The movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana, and Kubbra Sait, and is directed by Rosshan Andrrews.
