Ashwatthama Revival Buzz Around Ram Charan & Aditya Dhar

This rumour isn’t new—it actually dates back nearly three years, even before The Immortal Ashwatthama went on floors.
At the time, Jio Studios had signed director Aditya Dhar for a large-scale project. Riding high on the success of URI: The Surgical Strike, Dhar was keen to mount the film on a grand scale. However, the project ran into two major hurdles: lack of a confirmed star and uncertainty around the massive budget.
That’s when Ram Charan’s name entered the conversation. After the global success of RRR, many believed he would be a perfect fit for a powerful character like Ashwatthama. Despite the buzz, the project required huge financial backing and was eventually shelved.
Now, the same project is back in discussions—and the reason is quite clear: the success of the Dhurandhar franchise. With Dhurandhar and its sequel turning into major hits, Aditya Dhar has established himself as a bankable filmmaker. Producers are now more willing than ever to invest heavily in his next venture.
This could be the right time for The Immortal Ashwatthama to finally be revived. At the same time, Dhar is also said to be considering a sports drama. Out of the two, one project is expected to go on floors soon.
Interestingly, both projects are rumored to be multistarrers. That’s why Mega fans are once again hopeful that this long-standing rumour might finally turn into reality.
