Sudha Kongara Reveals Missed Cameos in Parasakthi

Director Sudha Kongara’s much-anticipated film Parasakthi hit theatres on January 10, 2026, but contrary to expectations, the film failed to make an impact at the box office. In a recent interview, Sudha opened up about several creative decisions that never made it to the final cut, including plans for high-profile cameo appearances.
Sudha revealed that she initially envisioned Parasakthi featuring prominent actors from different film industries, similar to the cameo-driven approach seen in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer starring Rajinikanth. As part of this idea, she even approached Abhishek Bachchan for a special appearance.
“During the early stages, I wanted actors from respective languages to portray historical figures in the film,” Sudha explained. “We planned to include several personalities associated with the anti-Hindi movement, and I did reach out to Abhishek Bachchan for one of those cameo roles.”
The director also disclosed that Vijay Deverakonda was her first choice for an important cameo role that was eventually played by Rana Daggubati. “A long time ago, I approached Vijay Deverakonda to play Michael Reddy, but he was busy shooting for Kingdom at the time,” she said.
Following Sudha Kongara’s revelations, Vijay Deverakonda’s fans reacted strongly on social media. Many expressed relief that the actor did not take up the role, pointing out that Parasakthi underperformed at the box office and that Rana Daggubati’s cameo failed to leave a strong impression. Fans felt Vijay had narrowly avoided an unimpactful appearance in a film that did not resonate with audiences.
