Venkatesh Hosting RSS Chief Sparks Political Curiosity

Venkatesh has long been seen as one of the most non-controversial and apolitical figures in Telugu cinema. Over the decades, he has carefully maintained a neutral public image, consistently staying away from politics and avoiding overt political associations. While his elder brother Suresh Babu is known to share cordial relationships with several chief ministers, Venkatesh himself has largely kept a distance from political engagement.

Even on occasions involving close family, he has chosen restraint. When his elder daughter actively campaigned for her father-in-law, who contested and won the MP elections from Khammam on a Congress ticket, Venkatesh noticeably stayed away from the campaign trail. Although his late father, D. Ramanaidu, served as a Telugu Desam Party MP and the family is traditionally perceived as TDP-leaning, Venkatesh has remained personally and publicly apolitical throughout his career.

Against this backdrop, his recent move has sparked curiosity and debate. The actor hosted a gathering at his Manikonda residence in Hyderabad to honour RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is currently marking 100 years of its existence, and as part of its centenary outreach, Mohan Bhagwat has been meeting prominent individuals and organisations across the country.

While the RSS is not a political party, it is widely viewed as being ideologically aligned with the BJP. This has naturally led to raised eyebrows and questions within political and film circles alike. Why did Venkatesh, known for his deliberate distance from political symbolism, choose to host the RSS chief? The gesture, subtle yet significant, has added an unexpected layer of intrigue to the actor’s otherwise carefully guarded apolitical stance.
