12A Railway Colony Skips USA Release Amid Market Slowdown

12A Railway Colony, slated for release on November 21, will not be hitting theatres in the USA. The producer initially waited for strong overseas buyers, but due to the current slow market — where it has become increasingly tough to draw audiences to cinemas — the film didn’t receive solid offers.

Eventually, a distributor proposed releasing the film in the USA for a small advance payment, but the producer declined. As the release date neared, he reconsidered, only to find that the buyer was no longer interested. Consequently, the film will now release only in India.

Given that 12A Railway Colony is a thriller, its box-office potential is considered stronger in domestic markets. If the film performs well, the producer may explore a USA release later on his own terms.

Interestingly, smaller films like Premante and Raju Weds Rambai have secured USA releases with noticeably better theatrical outreach, highlighting the varying market responses.

12A Railway Colony stars Allari Naresh and Kamakshi Bhaskarla, directed by Nani Kasaragadda and produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi.
