At the most Arjun Reddy could collect 20 percent less than Pelli Choopulu’. These comments of Tammareddy Bharadwaj on the dais of the film’s pre-release event has left the makers of Arjun Reddy in great shocker. In fact, Tammareddy was right to an extent.
The existing GST impact on the films and its impact on the collections have been grossly ignored by many and Tammareddy has rightly pointed out by explaining how it would affect.
Stating that producers are at the receiving end, Tammareddy said that had Dasari Narayana Rao is alive today, he would have raised the issue. He added that he is raising the issue as Dasari is no more. He also bluntly said that Arjun Reddy is releasing as Asian Films bailed out them.
“There are many films such as Arjun Reddy which are made every year. But not many would get released. And GST is acting as a death knell for small-films. This is a serious issue. Everyone within the industry should raise the voice,” said Tammareddy.
