3 more deaths, 30 new cases in Telangana!

Telangana reported three more deaths due to Coronavirus disease and as many as 30 new positive cases on Wednesday, a statement made by the Telangana government after midnight said.

While two deaths were reported from Gandhi Hospital, the third death was from Yashoda Hospitals, taking the overall number of deaths in the state to nine.

The state registered as many as 30 new positive cases of Covid-19 in a span of 24 hours, taking the overall number of positive cases to 107, besides 14 persons who got cured of the disease and got discharged.

The statement from the office of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said all the nine deaths reported in the state so far were of those who had attended the meeting of Tablighi Jamaat sect of Muslims at Nizamuddin in New Delhi.

Similarly, all the 30 fresh cases that tested positive on Wednesday were also of those who attended this Markaz.

The CMO statement said in Telangana, the virus has been spreading from those who attended the Nizamuddin Markaz and through them their family members.

“Initially, the virus spread among those who came from abroad and through them it spread to others. They are all recovering. Many of them discharged. No case among them was serious. Nobody died. But the positive cases for the past few days are all those who went to Markaz,” the CMO release said.

The chief minister directed that the officials conduct tests on all those who had gone to the Markaz.

“Still tests have to be conducted on 300 more people who returned from Markaz,” the statement said.

KCR appealed to all those who had gone to the Nizamuddin meeting, their family members and those who came in contact with them to undergo tests.

“Since the virus is spreading through those who went to Markaz, they all should undergo tests without failure,” he said.
