Although Varun’s previous film ‘Fidaa’ managed to earn Rs 50 crores at box-office, Tholiprema deciphered that his actual box-office strength is only at Rs 20 to 25 Crores. It is because producer Dil Raju, director Shekar Kammula and Sai Pallavi were equally credited for the success of Fidaa.
But, the Mega actor’s next outing is a space thriller which will be directed by Sankalp Reddy of Ghazi fame and the estimated budget of the film is whopping 40 Crores. The makers have signed Varun after seeing the magnitude of Fidaa success, but Tholiprema proved his strength is merely at 20 to 25 Crores.
However, the makers of untitled space-film are ready to pump in so huge money with strong belief in script, offbeat content and not-so-regular theme. With every cinema, Varun is attempting what Natural Star Nani and Sharwanand did in the early stages of their career- by focusing more on image building roles rather than aiming at stardom.
So, it’s highly crucial for the actor to make sure that other members cast are also equally effective, and he also needs to meticulously concentrate on doing more such characters to slowly expand his market.
