After the success of Miss Shetty & Mr. Polishetty, actress Anushka Shetty has been keeping a low profile and staying away from the limelight. Her much-awaited comeback to the big screen was supposed to happen this April with the film Ghaati, but delays in post-production and unfinished shooting work have pushed the release indefinitely. So far, neither the film’s director Krish nor the production house UV Creations have provided any official updates regarding the new release date.

Anushka is expected to appear in two major films this year. After Ghaati, she will be seen in the grand Malayalam film Kathanar Part 1, which will be released pan-India in multiple languages. The film is based on the legendary 9th-century Christian priest Kadamattathu Kathanar, who was believed to possess magical powers. Anushka plays the powerful role of Kaaliyan Kattu Neeli in this high-budget visual extravaganza. The movie is being made in two parts, with the second part slated for release in 2026.

Meanwhile, UV Creations is reportedly planning Bhaagamathie 2, but the project will depend on Anushka’s availability and schedule. There are also whispers in the industry that Anushka has signed one Telugu and one Tamil film, though no official confirmations have been made yet.

Fans have been eagerly waiting to see more of her on screen and feel it’s been too long since she had a strong presence in cinema. There’s also buzz about a potential reunion with Prabhas in one of his upcoming projects with Hombale Films, though it remains a rumor at this point.

Beyond her film career, Anushka continues to be in the spotlight due to curiosity about her personal life, particularly regarding her marriage. Rumors about her wedding plans often make rounds, but fans are still waiting for an official word on when she’ll finally become “Mrs. Anushka.”
