Manchu Vishnu Eyes “Aavesham” Remake, Gears Up for Kannappa Release
Manchu Vishnu’s ambitious mythological action drama Kannappa is all set for a grand pan-India release on June 27. With a star-studded cast and a large-scale narrative, the film has already built considerable buzz across multiple languages. To ensure strong nationwide reach, Vishnu and the film’s team have been actively promoting the movie across different regions. As part of this effort, a major promotional event was recently held in Kochi, Kerala, especially given Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s key role in the film, which has piqued the interest of Kerala’s audiences.
During promotions in Kerala, Manchu Vishnu sat down for an interview with the Malayalam media. He expressed his deep admiration for Malayalam cinema, revealing that he never misses any Malayalam films, given their strong emphasis on content. He particularly praised actor Fahadh Faasil, calling himself a huge fan, and stating that his admiration grows with every performance. Vishnu was especially impressed with Trance, stating it left a lasting impression on him, and also mentioned his love for Aavesham, another recent hit starring Fahadh.
Interestingly, Vishnu revealed that he was keen on remaking Aavesham in Telugu, drawn to its unique action-comedy-thriller concept and Fahadh’s captivating performance. However, he later learned that the remake rights had already been acquired by someone else, leaving him disappointed. He expressed his regret, stating that he genuinely believed Telugu audiences would have connected with the film if it were remade well.
There have been earlier rumors about actors like Balakrishna and Ravi Teja being considered for the Telugu remake of Aavesham, but nothing official has materialized. Vishnu’s latest comments have reignited interest in the project and speculation over whether the remake could eventually feature him after all.
Meanwhile, expectations are high for Kannappa. The film recently dropped its trailer, which received a largely positive response across all languages. Featuring an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal, the film is poised to make a major impact. With pan-India appeal, strong visuals, and mythological depth, all eyes are now on whether the movie will translate this buzz into box office success.
