After the debacle of Game Changer, Ram Charan has shifted gears with his next project, Peddi, under the direction of Buchi Babu Sana. The film is currently in production, and some interesting details are surfacing about how the project came together.

Director Buchi Babu recently spoke about Peddi, revealing that Ram Charan was always his first choice for the lead role. Following the success of Uppena, Buchi Babu pitched the story to his mentor Sukumar. It was Sukumar who encouraged him to approach Charan for the film. While there were initial rumors of a collaboration with Jr NTR, that plan didn’t move forward. Eventually, it was Ram Charan who gave the green light to Peddi, and the project finally took shape.

During the teaser launch, Buchi Babu shared a special moment he had watching the teaser with both Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi. Though he was nervous, Chiranjeevi’s encouraging feedback gave him a big morale boost. The teaser’s climax, featuring Charan hitting a powerful cricket shot, stood out and was choreographed by action director Navakanth.

Peddi also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu in key roles. With music by AR Rahman, the film is slated for a global release on March 27, 2026. It’s evident that the film is a result of several contributing factors—Sukumar’s mentorship, Charan’s enthusiasm, and Buchi Babu’s vision—all coming together to bring Peddi to life.
