Even in the second week of its Release, Anurag Basu’s Barfi is going strong worldwide. The movie is all set to the exclusive 100 Crore club this week. The movie is well received by critics and audience alike. The movie was recently nominated to Oscars from India. However, that does not take the movie away from criticism.
Many people allege that the movie was inspired by Charlie Chaplin and several other Hollywood movies. However, the director Anurag Basu had justified his act. He said, “If devdas can inspire Dev.D, Why cnt Chaplin inspire me?”.
It has to be seen if the Oscar committee too take the plagiarism matter so lightly.
