Saudi Arabia has introduced a new multiple-entry Umrah visa, making it easier for pilgrims to perform Umrah several times within a year without applying for a new visa for every trip.
Under the new policy, the multiple-entry Umrah visa will remain valid for 365 days from the date of issuance. During this period, visa holders can enter Saudi Arabia multiple times, with a combined stay of up to 90 days across all visits.
The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy and the Pilgrim Experience Program, which aim to simplify travel procedures, enhance the pilgrimage experience, and expand the use of digital services for visitors.
However, the visa comes with certain conditions. Before each visit, pilgrims must purchase an approved Umrah service package through the Nusuk platform. The duration of the selected package cannot exceed the remaining validity of the visa. In addition, travellers are required to obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk mobile application before arriving in the Kingdom.
The visa will automatically deactivate once a pilgrim leaves Saudi Arabia and will be reactivated for the next visit only after all required conditions have been fulfilled.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has also clarified that the visa will not be valid during the annual Hajj season, which runs from the 1st of Dhu Al Qadah until the 13th of Dhu Al Hijjah. During this period, the multiple-entry Umrah visa will remain inactive regardless of whether other eligibility requirements have been met.
According to the ministry, the new system offers greater flexibility for pilgrims who wish to perform Umrah multiple times in a year. By eliminating the need to apply for a fresh visa before every visit, while integrating digital approvals through the Nusuk platform, the initiative is expected to make the pilgrimage process more convenient and efficient.
