Anyone who has been following the proceedings in Andhra Pradesh state assembly is well aware that there has been an ongoing showdown between the ruling TDP and Andhra Pradesh’s only opposition party YSRCP. In fact, Jagan was pretty miffed after Speaker Kodela did not allow him to speak about the budget. In retaliation, he walked out of the Assembly and called the media to express his views and opinions.
So in a media meet that went on for about two and half hours, Jagan spoke for two and half hours without any interruptions from TDP members. And he did talk of all the points he wanted to mention within the House.
However, one could not help but notice that his party MLAs had to stand all the while as there were no seats left for them to sit. It goes without saying that it looked rather odd to see MLAs standing for two and half hours.
Though Jagan had started the meet saying that he would conclude it within a short span, he actually went on for two and half hours. Ironically, it was earlier thought that Chandra Babu Naidu had the stamina to hold lengthy conversations with media and now Jagan seems to have broken Babu’s track record by holding a media meet for so long.
On the other hand, late YSR was known for speaking briefly. Incidentally, Jagan had said that he would want to speak for at least two and half hours about budget. Well, so did he set a new trend of sorts by talking to media for two and half hours?
