Andhra Pradesh’s Proposed Capital Plans may hit a road block after the Supreme Court accepted a PIL. A person named Srimannarayana from Vijayawada filed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) complaining that it is a violation of Human Rights to establish capital in Multi Crop lands i.e., at Thullur.
The complainant also said that constructing capital there will harm the environment and ecological balance. This petition is likely to come up for hearing on 20th of this month. Andhra Pradesh government is collecting the details of this PIL to effectively counter the arguments of the complainant on that day.
On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government is distributing the promised compensation for the first year to the farmers who have given their lands in the land pooling. There is a target of pooling 33811 acres of land from farmers in the ongoing land pooling and the government had managed to pool in more than 32000 acres.
The government had asked the farmers to give their lands to CRDA by April 15th. Already leveling works began in few lands. The Singapore Experts team will submit the Master Plan of the capital in June and then the government will call global tenders. Most of the constructions will be executed in Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
