Former Union Law Minsiter and senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily shocked Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by opposing tax concessions to the new states by the Union Government.
Speaking in Loksabha on tax concessions to newly formed states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he asked “what will be the situation of neighbouring states like Karnataka if tax concessions are given to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana” He thundered “Why is union government is giving tax concessions only to those two states.
Government can invest in these two states but shouldn’t neglect neighbouring states” Moily asked Union Government to first implement the packages announced during the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and asked not to take senseless decisions.
TDP MPs strongly protested against Moily’s speech and tried to interrupt him. Congress leaders are indulging in double speak on special status to Andhra Pradesh. While they are blasting Union Government led by NDA and TDP Govt in Andhra Pradesh assembly, in parliament they are questioning how could Union Government led by Modi ignore other states by providing tax concessions to the two states.
