Acquisition of lands from farmers in the proposed capital region in Andhra Pradesh is attracting lot of opposition. Farmers started protesting opposing Andhra Pradesh Government’s land pooling scheme and even political parties questioned the move of the government.
Andhra Pradesh’s on going assembly session is witnessing heated discussion with YSRCP leader YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy blasting AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu and his government. Jagan even suggested Chandra Babu Naidu that Government could have chosen forest region for the construction of new capital rather than acquiring fertile lands from the farmers.
Chandra Babu Naidu responding to the criticism of Jagan Mohan Reddy, in a lengthy reply on the motion of thanks to Governor ESL.Narasimhan’s address said “No Government would build capital city at forest location or remote regions where no facilities are available Farmers are coming forward voluntarily to give their lands for the construction of new capital.”
Chandra Babu Naidu added “I and my Government is indebted to the farmers for their noble gesture and thank them for the same. If one goes according to the suggestion of YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy and use forest area for capital construction, one cannot construct capital but only build Mental Hospital”
