Brutal rape due to Nirbhaya’s blunder ?

None can forget the heinous Nirbhaya incident in India’s capital Delhi on 16th Dec, 2012. On the shameful night six human animals brutally raped 23 year old Jyothi Singh Pandey in a moving bus and then tried to murder her.
She valiantly fought with them and death before breathing her last in a Singapore Hospital. This triggered huge anger amongst people who protested on streets which forced the Government to enact Nirbhaya Law to curb rapes and crimes against women.
However nothing changed at the ground level as rapes are happening on a daily affair and more shockingly the rapists of Nirbhaya still enjoying biryanis in jail. What is more astonishing is some social activists fighting for their release.
In the meanwhile Mukesh Singh, driver of the bus who also raped the innocent girl shocked all in a interview to British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) blamed Nirbhaya for the incident. He said “While being raped, she shouldn’t have fought back. She should have just remained silent and allowed the rape.”
Justifying his brutal act he said “A decent girl won’t roam around at 9 o’clock at night. A girl is far more responsible for rape than a boy is. Boys and girls are not equal. Housework and housekeeping is for girls, not roaming in discos and bars at night or wearing wrong clothes.
About 20% of girls are good.” and added “Women who go out at night have only themselves to blame in case they attract attention of male molesters,” Mukesh claimed that his death penalty will increase rapes on women.
He warned “”The death penalty will make things even more dangerous for girls. Now, when men rape, they will not leave the girl like we did. They will kill her after that.” This interview will be aired on March 8, on International Womens Day.
