KCR govt to Demolish Iconic Greenland’s Guest House

Heritage building Greenlands guesthouse, that was once home to several heads of state, which also includes Nizam, is expected to be making way for a modern skyscraper.
The 1927 dated structure in Begumpet, that is now home for the Telangana general administration (protocol) department, would be reportedly razed to construct a 20-storey skyscraper as the state government has reportedly included these premises in the skyscraper project.
The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (now HMDA) has tagged it as a heritage structure on March 23,1998 that also hosted many Chief Ministers in the past. During bifurcation, Greenlands guesthouse was given to Telangana and it is infact the only guesthouse in the city with a heritage tag.
Moreover, environment lovers feel that scores of 60-year-old trees might be axed for this proposed skyscraper.
