Chandrababu terribly upset with Modi

Telugu Desam Party president, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to be terribly upset with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completely ignoring the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu is said to have expressed this opinion with his Cabinet colleagues and also a few media persons the other day.
While the Modi government has ruled out granting special status to AP, the financial assistance of about Rs 500 crore sanctioned recently was also peanuts for the State which is facing severe financial crunch. Added to this, Naidu had to bear the heavy burden of 43 per cent salary hike for the State government employees.
“I made repeated appeals to the Centre for adequate funds for the new capital, as well as overcoming the financial crisis. But Modi government has not responded,” he is learnt to have said. What had irritated Naidu most was the highhanded attitude of Modi towards the BJP allies. “When I go to Delhi, the Prime Minister does not give the kind of respect a Chief Minister deserves.
He has forgotten the fact that the TDP has played a very major role in the sustenance of the NDA government in the past,” he said. However, Naidu is not in a hurry to get out of the NDA because he knows he has to be patient to get more funds from the Centre. He is hopeful that the debacle in Delhi polls would bring in some change in Modi’s style of functioning.
