The government would construct Telangana Kala Bharati with four assembly rooms and a huge interaction centre close to Indira Park in Hyderabad. The plan was revealed by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao during a televised communication with people late on Wednesday night.
The interaction was happening at the time of going to press. The four auditoriums would hold about 2,750, 1,750, 1,000 and 700 people. The interaction center could accommodate nearly 10,000 people, he said. They have just one massive center for a cultural programme at Ravindra Bharati, which is old fashioned and lacks parking facilities If a government program is held, private institutions are refused permission.
He doesn’t have space for interaction with people of the twin cities, hence they are building Kala Bharathi, Mr Rao said. On other matters, Mr Rao said that the government has organized to emerge with a new building regularization scheme and would waive property tax for the poor.
He was accompanied on T News channel by Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali and Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, T. Padma Rao and T. Srinivas Yadav. Mr Rao described his master plan to progress Hyderabad in all arenas and invited the cooperation of the people. The Telangana government would streamline Hyderabad at a cost of Rs1, 250 crore in the first phase.
“Tenders will be called by GHMC shortly. You will have modernized junctions, skyways among others. You will see a totally changed Hyderabad in six to seven years,” he said. Mr Rao said Hussainsagar would be desalted and cleaned in the summer.
