Swine Flu is not showing any signs of slowing down as it has claimed 31 lives in one month’s time. Out of the 1,854 samples tested from January 1 to February 1, 629 samples were found to be positive.
35 samples from 118 total samples tested positive on Sunday February 1 alone, the government said. The government however added that the number of positive cases has come down in the recent days. Medical experts have expressed their anguish that on an average 35 people are tested positive for H1N1 virus and this number is not a small one.
Also they added that on an average 2 people have died everyday if last one week’s death toll is taken into account. Doctors have asked public to be cautious about swine flu as the cold weather is likely to continue for few more days.
Chief Secretary of Health department, Suresh Chandra has said that enough stock of medicine is available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals.
