New Record In Facebook’s Annual Revenue

The world’s largest social networking service Facebook set a new record. For the first-time, its annual revenue topped 10 Billion dollars (Rs 61,820 Crore). with the huge jump in its revenue in the final quarter, Facebook raked in an annual revenue of Rs 79,130 Crore (i.e $1280 Crore). 
Whereas the total profit is nearly Rs 18,000 Crore. Thanks to mobile ad revenue without which the numbers would not be possible. Beating the forecasts of analysts, the profit in the final three months of last year jumped to Rs 4,303 Crore (i.e $6960 Lakh). 
Compared to previous year, Facebook’s profit nearly doubled to 18,000 Crore and revenue jumped 58 per cent to Rs 80,000 Crore (approximately). However, this may not go down well with the most of the investors as they would be worried over rise in costs and expenses of the company. 
Investors will be concerned by an 87 per cent rise in costs and expenses. Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg described 2014 as a year of heavy investments, with “big bets” placed on mobile communication and next-generation computing with multibillion-dollar buys of WhatsApp and the Oculus virtual reality startup. 
Notably, Facebook saw its first quarter of taking in more than Rs 18,546 crore ($3 billion) overall from ads, with about two-thirds of that coming from mobile advertising revenue, which soared 69 per cent from the same period last year. 
Facebook said that its properties Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp recently topped 30 Crore, 50 Crore, and 70 Crore monthly active users respectively.
