Political parties in Telangana state are gearing up for the by-poll election in Warangal constituency which has been necessitated after the sitting MP Kadiyam Srihari was inducted into the Telangana cabinet. It is already known that Telangana CM KCR has sacked the deputy CM and Health Minister T.Rajaiah and appointed Srihari as deputy CM and education minister.
Because of Srihari’s appointment, he has to either contest to the Assembly or the Legislative Council to fulfill the constitution requirement. And also within six months, by-poll has to be conducted in the Warangal constituency.
Congress is likely to field Sirisilla Rajaiah who earlier contested against Srihari. TDP on the other hand is most likely to field former MLA Mothkupalli Narasimhulu.
According to sources, as there are no prominent dalit leaders in Telangana, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is inclined towards fielding Mothkupalli. Mothkupalli is also hoping to win the MP elections or settle for MLC seat if he doesn’t win.
