The coordination committee of the AP Congress Committee headed by the former minister N Raghuveera Reddy had recently met to discuss ways in which they can rejuvenate the party cadres in residuary AP. This assumes importance given that the party has been completely demoralized following the zero performance in 2014 Assembly elections.
The meeting, which was chaired by AICC in-charge of AP Digvijay Singh, was attended by the likes of K V P Ramachandra Rao. The list also involves Botsa Satyanarayana, C Ramachandraiah, J D Seelam, Killi Krupa Rani, Koppula Raju Panabaka Lakshmi, and M M Pallam Raju.
However, some leaders were conspicuous by their absence at the meeting. Among them are former union ministers Chiranjeevi, Sai Pratap, Y Kishore Chandra Deo and former state minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy. This comes amid reports that the top BJP leadership is wooing Chiranjeevi into the saffron party.
