With the series of deaths of senior and versatile actors in the recent times, many are now strongly suggesting the industry big wigs to do a Shanti pooja to save industry from “evil” forces. Telangana State Cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav too proposed film fraternity to do special poojas to overcome this “troubling” phase.
He put forward the industry people to do prayers, homams for the health and success of actors/technicians/producers. We hear that even few members of Movie Artistes Association, Directors’ association and Producers’ Council too of the opinion to do a Shanti pooja for the well-being of Telugu film industry that is seeing setbacks one after the other.
“First it was Telangana movement that saw huge dip in the revenues of films, theatres rents, other allied industries. Post bifurcation, the dilemma continued for a while. Subsequently, industry has lost many of its prominent personalities,” said a senior producer. And yes there is reason behind worrying of Telugu film fraternity.
In the past one year or so, Telugu film industry has lost best of its talents in one way or the other way. The list includes Dasari Padma, Sri Hari, AVS, Dharmavarupu Subramanyam, Telangana Shakuntala, Uday Kiran, Anjali Devi, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nandamuri Janakiram, Chakri, Ahuti Prasad, VB Rajendra Prasad and now MS Narayana.
