Congress MLC Paladugu Passes Away

Congress Senior leader, Ex Minister and Member of AP Legislative Council Paladugu Venkatrao passed away. Venkatrao who had been suffering from prolonged illness, breathed his last on Monday morning at a private hospital in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. 
He was 75. Paladugu hailed from Gogulampadu village of Munaluru Mandal in Krishna district. Born on Nov 11, 1940 into family of communists, Paladugu attracted towards Congress. He forayed into politics by joining Yuvajana Congress in 1968. 
He was elected as MLC in 1972 and later represented Legislative Assembly from Nuziveedu and served as Rural Development Minister in Anjaiah’s cabinet. However, he lost in the next elections. In 1989, he again won as MLA from Nuziveedu. 
He served as Minister of Consumer affairs, food and public distribution in Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy cabinet. Currently, he is the member of AP MLC since 2007. 
Leaders cutting across party lines condoled the death of senior leader Paladugu Venkatrao. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
