It is quite common for filmmakers to search for new talent when its flow stops coming naturally towards them knocking at them. Puri Jagannath, popular director known for his powerful mass entertainers decided to encourage new talent.
He came with paper ads in Sakshi new paper calling inviting creative people. He announced that he will come with the story but newcomers will get chance to direct the film. This is nothing new as earlier Vijaya Baapineedu came with a news paper ad asking interested people so send their stories to Chiranjeevi.
Many flooded him with stories with the hope of penning story for Top hero Chiranjeevi but Vijaya Baapineedu later announced that none of the stories were up to the mark. Even now there are many responses to Puri Jagannath’s ad with Sakshi and youtube flooded with aspiring directors’ short films.
However many still have doubts in their minds as to whether they could direct a full length film. Now the question is will Puri really take the bold decision and instill confidence in newcomers by giving them chance to direct his story. If he does he will create new trend in Tollywood.
