Jagan Still Dreaming of Becoming CM?

Beleaguered YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who tasted poll drubbing in 2014 General elections, seems to have learnt no lessons. Although people of truncated Andhra Pradesh gave clear mandate for Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP, Jagan Reddy still dreaming of coming to power by “dethroning” Chandrababu.
His latest statement is anything to go by, Jagan still hoping that he has fair chances to occupy CM seat even before the completion of 5-year rule as prescribed by the Constitution of India. After meeting a team of ‘dissent’ farmers who stood against AP government’s land pooling system for the proposed capital, Jagan Reddy made above statement. It naturally, bringing laughs across political spectrum also it is nothing but belittling the public mandate.
Especially at a time, a slew of senior leaders ditching him and his YSR Congress party, Jagan boasting his confidence of becoming CM in two years is something that can’t be put in words. Jagan’s hopes and expectations are always far from reality. His “over confidence” is what continues to pull him back and the sad thing is that Jagan didn’t come out of it yet. Ever since his father late CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy died in a fatal airplane crash, Jagan has been trying his best to turn every possible chance into his opportunity to become CM of the state.
And the latest case of lands pertaining to proposed Capital row is also one such ‘political’ opportunity that he’d like to en-cash. This might be appreciated by a few at the spur of the moment, but certainly Jagan Reddy would tarnish his image further among the young minds who are seen as the next generation. Jagan’s promise to farmers to “return” their lands soon after coming back to power is perhaps the most blatant lie.
This is complete contrast to AP CM Chandrababu’s statement to set up capital within 2019. In fact, Naidu too vowed to return lands but only percentage of the developed land would be shared with the farmers so that they’d gain out of it. While Naidu promised farmers to return lands for the beneficial of farmers, Jagan promising farmers to return to lands only if he becomes Chief Minister.
