Shobha Nagi Reddy’s Daughter Akhila Priya on Monday delivered her first speech in Assembly. She spoke on how most of the Road Accidents could be prevented if proper measures were taken by the Government and Citizens. Akhila Priya: “Its very unfortunate that I was speaking in the position of my mother just because of her sudden demise due to road accident. Most of these road mishaps could be prevented.
In the past 2 Years, Over 400 accidents happened between Chagalamarri town and Nandhyala. The statistics in some of the constituencies were scary to say the least. My Mother might have been alive Today if the government machinery has taken proper measures. With the intention that no one should face the problem I have come across, I decided to deliver my first speech on road safety”.
The First-Time Legislator raised the issue of not having proper sign boards, diversion boards, radium stickers during nights, poor quality and patch work have been causing accidents on National Highways, R&B Roads and Panchayat Raj Roads. She reminds lack of proper action from district collector and police department even though Shobha Nagi Reddy has given representation to them on many occasions. She demanded the concerned minister to promise that at least now something will be done .
