In a remarkable address, AP CM Chandrababu delivered a stentorian and inspiring speech at Telugu Film Industyr’s telethon “Memu Saitham”. After receiving a donation of Rs 11,51,56,111/- from Telugu fraternity, Naidu appreciated and applauded each and everyone’s effort behind the huge sum. Right from Chiranjeevi to Balakrishna to Venkatesh to Murali Mohan, Naidu was all praise for stars and producers behind the do. Naidu reminisced old days how legendary NTR raised funds.
Explaining about the State government’s measures for Hudhud victims, Naidu said the biggest challenge is to rebuild the city with great effort and means. Naidu said, “So far we have received over Rs 150 Crore as donations from outside. Today I’m glad that Tollywood is donating Rs 11.5 Crore. Apart from monetary donation, I invite each and everyone to be part of the rebuilding of Vizag. Why don’t you adopt a village and remodel it into a smart village?”
“The satisfaction you get is high compared to monetary donation. If you build a set of colonies and thousands of houses, history and people will remember the contribution of Telugu Film Industry forever. I’m ready to support from government. Government of AP will give you another Rs 11.5 Crore and you all adopt a village,” advised Naidu. Naidu immediately added, “But I’ll set up a deadline for it. By next October 12 (Hudhud struck on Oct 12, 2014), I’ll inaugurate it.” Reacting to Naidu’s suggestion, producer Suresh Babu stated, “10 months is enough and we’ll make it sir.”
Naidu also recalled the recent turn of events and how the state is bifurcated. “Bifurcation has been happened. Telugu Film Industry has to survive successfully in both the states. It should be operated from both the states,” Babu said. Babu said that India will be powerful nation along with China by 2050. Whereas US and other nations would reach a saturation point and India would beat it. Babu said how to turn crisis into an opportunity. He cited the examples of Vijayawada and Vizag where several countries are vying up to construct these two cities on par with global cities. Naidu given a call to everyone to be part of “Smart Andhra Pradesh”.
