The leader of Opposition YS Jagan Reddy is bracing up for Maha Dharna against the Andhra Pradesh government alleging that its stand is “anti-people” and “anti-farmers”. Jagan and his YSR Congress Party is going to sit on a Maha Dharna in Vizag on December 5th demanding “justice” for farmers and Dwacra women accusing TDP for “failing” to keep its poll promise of loan waiver.
Jagan choosing Vizag as the venue for this Maha Dharna is raising many eyeballs including within his party. In first place, YSRCP hardly have strength in the district as it lost in the polls. In fact, YSRCP’s honorary president YS Vijayamma too lost as Vizag MP. Already TDP has good fold in the area.
Secondly, after the recent cyclonic storm Hudhud, CM Chandrababu Naidu has become a sort of hero over there. Naidu, who had lived in a bus, and monitored all relief and help activities in Vizag and saw to it that Naidu not just successfully handled the whole Cyclone situation, he played pivotal role in minimising loss of human lives.
Naidu’s effective disaster management prowess earned him laurels across the globe and several countries like US, Singapore, Japan, China amazed at the way Andhra Pradesh handled the situation. This is not all. Naidu literally won the hearts of Vizagites. So, Jagan sitting up on a Maha Dharna in Vizag is definitely a wrong choice, says political analysts.
