Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been fighting bitter power and water battles and usage of water in Srisailam dam for power generation reached Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal. Animosity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reached new heights with Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu wrote a letter to the board opposing use of water by Telangana Govt for power generation.
With Krishna Tribunal restricting Telangana Govt over usage of water, Telangana CM KCR speaking in Assembly today announced that he will argue putting up strong defence in front of Krishna Water Tribunal to protect the interests of Telagnana state. He said he will create history becoming the first CM to argue in front of a tribunal.
He said gross injustice was done over Krishna water allocation in undivided Andhra Pradesh and Telangana movement arose only because of this. He asked all representatives to fight for the interest of Telangana cutting across party differences.
