Telangana Government is keen on hefty pay hike for legislators and ministers. In addition, It is also seriously considering increase of Pension to former legislators and Allowances to the MPs. As per CMO, Monthly salaries of MLAs will go upto Rs 2 lakhs from the present Rs 95,000.
“If we want the public representatives to work honestly, We need to provide them proper salary, ” quotes KCR, in a review meeting. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken this decision as he felt the salary what legislators have been receiving at the moment is barely sufficient.
T-Government has doubled the amount to bring down the gap between expenses and salary. This decision would cost the state exchequer to the tune of Rs 30 crore per annum and Rs 150 crore for a period of five years.
