TDP Tirupati MLA, Venkata Ramana has suffered a massive heart attack on Saturday night. He is immediately shifted to SVIMS in Tirupati and is admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As per the reports his condition is said to be critical.Venkata Ramana jumped into TDP from the Congress just before the elections. Venkata Ramana was favored in place of the party leader Chadalavada Krishnamurty by Chandrababu. Earlier he was elected to AP Assembly in 2004. He did not get seat in 2009 elections.
Bhumana Karunakar Reddy contested on the ticket of Congress Party. Chiranjeevi of the then PRP won the seat in 2009 elections.When Chiranjeevi resigned from the MLA seat after he merged PRP with Congress and was elected to Rajya Sabha, Venkata Ramana contested on the Congress ticket and was defeated by Karunakar Reddy. In 2014 elections Venkata Ramana trounced Karunakar Reddy by a margin of 41,531 votes. Venkata Ramana previously underwent two By-Pass surgeries.
