A industry source claims that superstar Pawan Kalyan tests the patience, perseverance and creative skills of directors, before giving them a chance to direct him, but it seems that writer-turned-director Bobby is an exception. Top Tollywood directors from director Karunkaran to Arunprasad, from Puri Jagannath, Harish Shankar, every director had to get ‘tuned to his style of making’ in months of their ‘discussions and sittings’, to enable Power star to judge his talent and give him a chance or not.
Even Sampath Nandi after superhit “Rachcha” had to spend more than 12 months with the Puli star and struck a chord, but it is surprising, how he was replaced with Bobby, in matter of few weeks. “Bobby was never in the contention and even Pawan himself was thinking of directing the sequel of the cop story, but out of the blue, Bobby name cropped up and finalized” says the source.
Of course, Bobby’s directorial debut “Power” just showed traces of his handling a star, but still had lot of loopholes, but Pawan overlooked everything? Or to help his friend Sarath to turn producer? Why took a fast decision?
