Allari Naresh’s latest film Brother of Bommali made some buzz pre release due to interesting promos. B. Chinni directed this film in which Karthika played the role of hero’s sister.
Story :
Rama Krishna (Allari Naresh) and Maha Lakshmi (Karthika) are twins. Ramakrishna is a soft going guy and Lakshmi is a rebel. Ramakrishna falls in love with Sruthi (Monal Gajjar). Ramakrishna should help her sister’s love to succeed to marry his lover. Then starts the mission of Brother of Bommali.
Performances:
Allari Naresh: Allari Naresh is undoubtedly the main highlights of the film. His impeccable comedy timing and expressions will keep you entertained. Allari Naresh shines even in the scenes that are not up to the mark.
Karthika: This is tailor made role for Karthika and she does it convincingly. She is good in action episodes and impressed with very good dance moves.
Others: Harsha Vardhan Rane is alright. Monal has nothing much to do. Brahmanandam adds value to the film with his presence. Abhimanyu Singh tries his hand at comedy. Nagineedu, Kelly Dorjee and others did within their limitations. Bhanu Mehra did an important role and she is fine.
On the Technical Front:
Director Chinni plays it safe by applying Srinu Vytla formula in the second half. Brother of Bommali has interesting plot and an entertaining first half. But the director messed it up in the second half by taking the beaten path. He has a very good sense of humor and it is evident in few scenes. Music by Sekhar Chandra is mediocre. Fights by Ram Lakshman are over the top. There is nothing much to write about other technical aspects of the film except for the impressive dialogues.
Analysis:
Brother of Bommali has a very interesting plot and the first hour runs smoothly with loads of entertainment. We expect brand new comedy in the second half with interesting character sketches and a promising premise. But there comes a twist during the interval scene to make it a formulaic entertainer. We have seen too many films in the recent past that has similar second half with hero playing mind games with the villains to reach his goal.
There are not many laugh out loud comedy scenes in the second half in spite of having Brahmanandam, Ali and others. Allari Naresh does his best to keep the audience interested with his performance. Climax is alright compared to dull second half. Nice plot, Good star cast and entertaining first half are the plus points of Brother of Bommali.
A better second half could have made it a memorable comedy. You may watch it for Allari Naresh and few genuine laughs. We have to wait and see if this stuff is enough for Naresh to pull it off at the box office.
Verdict: One time Watch
