The ban on liquor in Kerala State might come handy for the successor state of Andhra Pradesh. Given that Kerala has national and international tourists, Kerala state government’s decision to impose ban on alcohol naturally don’t go well with its tourists. However, this is blessing in disguise for Seemandhra which has similar geographical structure.
Like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh too boasts rich coastal beaches, other picturesque locales like Vizag, Araku and many other places that strike a chord with travelers. We hear that government of Andhra Pradesh is keenly watching Kerala state’s steps in liquor and going to take advantage of the situation. Already, CM Chandrababu Naidu stated publicly that he is committed to increase tourists to AP and thus increase the revenue for State government.
Meanwhile, Kerala State High Court on Wednesday upheld its state government’s decision to impose a ban on selling alcohol and gave green signal to ban liquor in its state shutting down over 700 bars in Kerala. This is certainly expected to have an adverse affect on Kerala’s tourism.
