It is known that Guntur District police booked Bonda Siddharth, son of TDP MLA Bonda Uma Maheswar Rao from Vijayawada Central over his alleged involvement in illegal car race which resulted in death of 22 year old engineering student Nagendra. Police slapped cases on B.Siddharth and his friends on sections 304 (A) and 337 of IPC.
However Bonda Uma Maheshwar Rao said police showed over enthusiasm and his son is innocent. He said his son didnot commit any mistake and found fault at police action. He said he attend meeting at Kadapa and later returned back to Tirupati. He said after returning to Vijayawada he got call from his relative about the accident.
He said his son was not driving was along with driver and also along with his friends in two cars to a function at his friends house. He said the two cars are traveling at normal speed and said as a dog obstructed the car hit a divider. He said his son by god’s grace escaped as he wore seat belt.
He said it was sad that one of his friend lost his life. He refused allegations that they were involved in car races. He said there were no sports cars and people will not have race with only two cars for races. He said people are just making the sad incident a sensation.
