From the last few days, the buzz among many cine buffs and film circles is the poster of Gona Ganna Reddy from the film ‘Rudhramadevi’. Stylish star Allu Arjun is essaying that role and the poster got released amidst good hype. Now, discussions are happening over his character and how his role would influence the film. As part of that talk, here is an inside dope.
Apparently, Gona Gannareddy was the pet project of director Gunasekhar when he was making the film ‘Sainikudu’ starring Mahesh Babu. For that matter, at the end of the film, the backside of an auto is shown with Gona Ganna Reddy written on it. Now, the pet project of Gunasekhar is working partly with his magnum opus ‘Rudhramadevi’. But there is a film which has already shown the brave warrior. We are talking about ‘Simhasanam’ starring superstar Krishna.
It is inspired from the story of Gona Ganna Reddy but it was blended with fiction and then made. A novel named ‘Gona Ganna Reddy’ was written by Adavi Bapiraju and based on that, Tripuraneni Maharadhi wrote the script for ‘Simhasanam’ which released in 1986. Well, it was a treat for the older generation so let us see how good Gunasekhar makes it for the current generation.
