On the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’ birthday celebrations, we have an onscreen avatar played by Ram Charan who also shows ultimate humanism. As Charan pardons the killer who shoots him in the climax of GAV (ala Mahatma Gandhi, who had instructed his followers not to beat up Godse who shot him​).​
After playing fiery roles in “Magadheera”, “Nayak” and ‘Yevadu”, Ram Charan got a good opportunity to showcase his ‘softer and sensitive side’ onscreen and won marks as a lovable grandson.The actor has shed ‘loads of tears’ to convince his rigid and old-fashioned grandpa and the pain he shows, while informing his lover Kaajal, that he is ready to ‘sacrifice’ his love and anguish in searching his kidnapped sister, showed his acting talent, hitherto unexploited.
Despite a repetitive plot and slow-paced narration, load of carrying the film falls on Charan well-built shoulders and surely, he would be in the race for various awards.
