Vastavayya review here.

Story

Nandu (NTR), a college student and a happy-go-lucky guy comes across Akshara (Samantha) and falls for her at the first sight. He tries to woo her with his witty ways and Akshara finally falls for him. At the wedding event of Akshara’s sister, Nandu’s violent past comes into picture. Akshara’s father (Mukesh Rishi) and Nandu share the past along with Ammulu (Shruti Haasan) and other evil politicians. What is Nandu’s past? Who is Ammulu forms the rest of the story.

Performances

NTR looked quite handsome and Ramayya Vasthavayya is definitely Young Tiger’s best look so far. The introduction scenes of the actor are feast to NTR’s fans while he has done some stylish dance moves. And as usual, NTR has rocked with his comic timing and dialogue delivery.

Samantha is glamorous and stylish in the film. She has more screen time in the first half and Sam makes her presence felt every time she appears on-screens. Samantha’s scenes with NTR are hilarious.

Shruti Haasan looked good and performed well. But her dubbing could’ve been better. Neneppudaina song is amazingly captured.

Rohini Hattangadi is neat, Ravi Shankar is revelation, Rao Ramesh is significant. Mukesh Rishi, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Nagineedu are adequate.

Technical Analysis

Cinematography is on top-notch while the musical scores are impressive. Jabilli, Neneppudaina and Pandaga Chesuko are choreographed well and neatly shot. Thaman’s background score is good in hero elevation scenes. Dialogues are very impressive. Harish Shankar has created magic with NTR in the first half but the second half could’ve been better. Production values are standard.

Analysis

Director Harish Shankar has showed NTR in the best look till date and fans are sure to enjoy the Young Tiger’s fit look, stylishness, romantic angle, dances and action. NTR’s intro scenes and Duryodana getup are a treat. The first half of the film is racy with the right mix of action and entertaining scenes of NTR, Samantha, Rohini Hattangadi. Interval bang is quite promising raising the expectations.

Second half of the film could have been better. Despite the revenge drama story, the screenplay isn’t much gripping and doesn’t leave strong impact for the audiences. There are too many multiple action sequences and fights and the entertainment quotient in the second half is missing. Climax was a routine fare. The best of Ramayya Vastavayya scenes include diary sequence, NTR, Samantha scenes, interval bang and NTR-Shruti Haasan scenes. With much gripping screenplay in the second half, Ramayya Vastavayya could’ve done wonders. Nevertheless, Ramayya Vasthavayya has a very good first half and few entertaining punch dialogues in the second half.

Final Verdict

Ramayya Vasthavayya is visual feast for NTR’s fans…
