The people of Telangana obviously have nothing to do with the tax levied on vehicles from AP entering Telangana. It is a decision taken by KCR! However, every time that KCR takes a decision against the interests of the people of AP, the stock response from Naidu is that “Telugu people should be united, we are geographically divided but emotionally united, all issues should be resolved through negotiation etc.”
These are politically correct statements but leave the people of Seemandhra simmering in frustration. In fact, KCR should be thanked for such decisions will only hasten the relocation of Seemandhra people to AP, which is indispensable for the future growth of AP.
The UPA divided the State, the NDA cheated AP on special status and KCR continues with hatred against AP for it is the only way he can stay in power. The Seemandhra people have faced all these stoically. Another tax is not going to make any difference to them except that it is reminiscent of the ‘Jiziya Tax’ imposed on Hindus by Aurangzeb.
What the people of Seemandhra would like from Naidu is to show some pluck and hit back at KCR with whatever he has. For five years, KCR will come up with many such taxes. Is Naidu’s stock reply going to be the same for all five years? For once, can’t Naidu forget about his political interests in Telangana and fight solely for the AP people? Where is the Seemandhra centric leader? The State is badly in need of one!
