At a time when there is a large scale exodus of MLAs and other leaders into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu sounded overconfident on forming the next government in Telangana in 2019.
Apparently to give boost to the demoralized cadre in Telangana, today predicted that his party will come to power in the State in 2019 general elections.
At a public meeting in Mahbubnagar, Naidu said it was the TDP government which had developed Hyderabad into an international city and in the coming years, it would be once again the TDP which would develop Telangana.
Taking a dig at the TRS for encouraging defections, the TDP supremo declared that his party was capable of creating 100 leaders if one defected to the other parties.
He vowed to get back to power in the region come what may. He wooed the public who attended in big numbers that they are backbone of the party in the region. Though a few leaders left the party, it did not lose the base, he stated.
